Ákos Engelmayer

Co-founder of the “Polish-Hungarian Solidarity.” From 1971 worked as head of the Hungarian edition of the “Poland” magazine, then secretary of the Hungarian Institute of Culture in Warsaw. Employee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Hungary and Ambassador of the Republic of Hungary in Poland in 1990-1995. Academic lecturer at the Pultusk Academy of Humanities in 1995-2008. Graduate of the Department of History at the University of Warsaw. During martial law he actively participated in opposition activities. Awarded with many Polish and Hungarian awards. Since 1994 he has also been an honorary citizen of the city of Podkowa Leśna
